FAIRMONT —
After nearly 700 votes from students, faculty and members of the community were received and tallied, the new face of Pierpont Community & Technical College has officially been unveiled.
Montgomery the Lion will represent Pierpont’s first ever mascot, The Pride.
“The mascot’s going to be a really big connection with the community,” Dr. Doreen Larson, president of Pierpont, said.
The mascot was named after Pierpont’s first president Blair Montgomery, who fulfilled that role from 2003 to 2010.
