W.Va. plans moment of silence for 9/11 victims

CHARLESTON — West Virginia is planning a moment of silence to honor victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and first lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin are asking residents across the state to participate. The moment of silence will be observed at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday.

Before the moment of silence, the Tomblins will lay a wreath at the West Virginia Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial outside the Culture Center. Afterward, a remembrance ceremony will be held on the north side of the Capitol.
