Steelers aim for .500 in finale
Larry Foote knew at some point he would take a long look around the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room and wonder who is going to be around next year.
Foote just never expected to have to do a head count so soon. Neither did his teammates. -
LeBeau intends on returning to Steelers
Armed with a promise from his beloved defensive coordinator that he wouldn’t retire without first informing his players, Ryan Clark threatened to avoid Dick LeBeau.
“I didn’t want to hear it, so I’ve told him, ‘If you try to leave, well, you didn’t see me and tell me, so you can’t,”’ said Clark, the Steelers’ free safety. -
Big Ben takes blame for collapse
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger looks at his passing statistics, and they’re not all that bad.
His passer rating is up from his career average, as well as his average passing yards per game.
The completion rate is where it has been over the course of an eight-year career. -
Steelers lose to Bengals, 13-10
As they have all too often this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t make the plays late in the game to finish off a victory.
As a result, they’ll be finishing their season prior to the playoffs for only the third time since 2004. -
Steelers, Bengals starting playoffs early
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wants the league to consider expanding the playoffs.
Consider the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals a litmus test.
The official postseason doesn’t start for another two weeks, but the AFC North rivals are getting an early start on Sunday in what amounts to an elimination game. -
Steelers CB Taylor out again
The boot is off Ike Taylor’s fractured ankle.
It’s still too soon, however, for the Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback to slip his cleats back on.
Taylor will miss his third straight game on Sunday when the Steelers (7-7) try to revive their postseason hopes against Cincinnati (8-6) in a game that will likely define the season of both teams. -
Dallas downer
Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers still have games to play, and a chance at the playoffs.
Still, this loss hurts for Roethlisberger, whose interception in overtime set up Dallas for a field goal to win 27-24 Sunday. -
Much at stake for Steelers, Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have a game to play. Again. Their playoff hopes could ride on the outcome. Again. Their opponent is an AFC North team fighting for the same thing. Again.

Steelers OL learn on the fly
Kelvin Beachum and David DeCastro were separated by 224 picks — and an avalanche of expectations — in last April’s NFL Draft.
The Steelers considered DeCastro a steal with the 24th overall selection, a plug-and-play talent they could pencil in at right guard for the next decade. -
Wallace not focused on boos
Mike Wallace heard the boos. And the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver knew it didn’t have as much to do with the pass that had just clanged off his hands as with the expectations — self-imposed or otherwise — he just can’t seem to meet.
