Fairmont Senior baseball team started off its weekend on the right foot — and with little resistance from Roane County — as it rolled to a home doubleheader sweep, 10-0 and 14-1, both wrapping up in five innings, at Mary Lou Retton Park. -

East Fairmont’s softball team closed the regular season the right way on Saturday, edging host Bridgeport for a 4-2 victory.
“It was a really well played ball game,” East coach John Postlewait of of his team, which didn’t commit an error all night. -

Polar Bears split DH with Mohigans
The Fairmont Senior High School baseball team toed the line Thursday against the Mohigans, a Class AAA powerhouse from Morgantown.
In the first game of the doubleheader, FSHS rallied from behind to win, 5-4; but in the second, Fairmont Senior was defeated, 15-5. -

North Marion softball tamed the Polar Bears — again.
For the second time this season, the Huskies had their way with Fairmont Senior, rolling to a 22-0, three-inning rout on Thursday in Rivesville. -

East Fairmont’s softball team dropped a back-and-forth home slugfest to Braxton County, 15-14, on Wednesday.
"We made it hard on ourselves,” East coach John Postlewait said. “We extended our innings and they have a lot of good hitters and capitalized on our mistakes.” -

After a big win a day earlier over Lincoln, North Marion’s softball team failed to keep the momentum going on Tuesday in a 8-0 road loss at University.
The Huskies, now 19-11 on the season, were held to just three hits on the afternoon. -
