PLEASANT VALLEY — North Marion’s girls’ basketball thrashed East Fairmont on Wednesday evening, 71-37.
North Marion found itself rolling early.
Right out of the gates, NMHS won the opening tip-off, then sophomore Cassy Rodriguez made herself feel at home while draining a 3-pointer.
This opening three allowed North to open the game on the right foot — and that’s exactly what North’s head coach Mike Parrish hoped would happen.
“Rodriguez had three 3-pointers early, and that got us rolling,” said Parrish. “Rodriguez hit some shots early, and then we hit a spell where we couldn’t hit anything.”
Not only did Rodriguez have a hot hand early, but she provided the Huskies with two more threes that would ignite them through the first quarter.
