CHARLESTON -- North Marion's girls' basketball team's trip back to the state tournament was a short one.
The No. 6 Huskies lost their opening round game of the 2013 Class AA state tournament to the No. 3 Nicholas County Grizzlies, 47-42.
The game was back and forth with neither team getting more than 6-point lead. North was led by freshman guard Megan Haller with 17 points. Audia Bartlett and Anna Marie Moscufo both added 10.
The Grizzlies were paced by senior Shealyn Shafer with a double-double. Shafer scored 16 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. Lauren Young also added 10 for Nicholas.
