CLARKSBURG —
East Fairmont had its opportunities against Robert C. Byrd Friday night.
But the Bees couldn’t sustain their drives or slow down the Flying Eagles’ two-headed rushing attack led by Ben D’Annunzio and Tre Cox as they fell on the road, 34-6.
Robert C. Byrd took the opening kickoff, but the Bees forced the Eagles to punt.
East then had its drive stall because of a holding penalty, before attempting a fake punt on fourth-and-4 from its own 24 yard line. It would be the first of two fake punts the Bees would attempt in the game; both were wide open but the pass was incomplete.
