FAIRMONT —
If nothing else, this weekend’s Region I wrestling final seems Marion County’s to win.
“I’d say it’s an open race between East, West and North,” Fairmont Senior coach Mark Delligatti said. “But I hope we’re the ones who win.”
After being held in places such as Hedgesville and East Fairmont in the not-so-recent past, regionals return to the Woody Williams Armory starting this afternoon through Saturday.
Wrestling begins at 3 p.m. today with the championship bracket first round. The championship quarters will follow at 5:30 p.m.
It’s the first time the Polar Bears have hosted the regional tournament since 2002.
