Quirk wins North-South shootout

Bees’ star makes eight 3-pointers


SOUTH CHARLESTON — The southern half of the state found out Friday night what Marion County has known for a good while — Seth Quirk can sure shoot a basketball.

The East Fairmont standout put on a show during the North-South All-Star Basketball Classic at the South Charleston Community Center, hitting 8-of-10 shots and narrowly winning the 3-point shooting contest over Martinsburg’s Isaac Thornton.

Thornton made seven of his 3-pointers, while Ravenswood’s Bruce Patterson connected on five for third place.
