Welcome to Class AA-A, Marion County.
In its first state tournament wrestling at a lower classification after years at triple-A, Marion County has made its presence known through two days at Huntington’s Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
An astounding 11 county wrestlers reached Friday’s semifinal round, and seven will wrestle for a state championship tonight.
It’s the most area wrestlers in a state final since 2008, when six reached the year’s last match and massive bump over this past season when East Fairmont’s Jesse Roman was the only one left standing.
