FAIRMONT — Needless to say, there won’t be much in the way of surprises Friday night at East-West Stadium.
Fairmont Senior and University know each other quite well. And each has a general idea of what to expect in this week’s Class AAA second-round playoff matchup.
“They pretty much know what we do, and we pretty much know what they do,” Fairmont Senior coach J.L. Abbott said.
What the No. 13 Hawks do better than most is play bone-crushing defense.
They’ve posted four shutouts and have held opponents to single digits in seven games this season.
University (8-3) has hit its stride of late, allowing just seven points in the past four games, including three shutouts.
