BRIDGEPORT — When two similar teams meet on the football field it often comes down to the last possession of the game.
That was the story in the opening round of the Class AAA playoffs when undefeated No. 3 Bridgeport hosted the No. 14 Parkersburg Big Reds.
With the score knotted 17-17, the Indians’ went for it on 4th-and-goal from the 2-yard line with 2:07 left in the game.
The result was a touchdown by Alex Sutton, his second of the game, and a victory for Bridgeport.
“Parkersburg is just like us,” Bridgeport head coach Bruce Carey said. “They run the ball and are physical. Tonight we were getting the big plays and they were controlling the clock.
