WHEELING — East Fairmont’s volleyball team is back in the state playoffs.
The Bees earned a second straight trip to Charleston the hard way on Saturday afternoon, winning the regional title with five-game victories over University and host Wheeling Park.
East (21-9), seeded second in the region, upset the top-ranked Hawks 22-25, 27-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-12 in the semifinal round. They followed that matchup with another battle in the finals, upending the Patriots 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-5.
