Bees win Williamstown Rumble

FAIRMONT — With the top-ranked team in Class AA-A, there’s no doubt East Fairmont wrestling came into Saturday’s Williamstown Rumble ... well, ready to rumble.

And the Bees proved it again once the weekend tournament got under way, as they took the team title and crowned three individual champions.

East put up 163.5 team points to earn first-place honors, well ahead of Independence (135) and host Williamstown (131.5).

    Fairmont Senior’s senior phenom Nick Trefz can now call himself a state champion in track.
    Trefz took home the gold in the 3,200 meters in Charleston on Friday with a time of 9:36.21.

    The Bees mounted rallies but saw their season come to an end with a 7-4 setback to the Eagles.
