RACHEL — Friday night was a prime example of the type of game you need to be able to win if you want to go far once tournament time rolls around.
On the road, in front of a hostile crowd and playing against a fierce county rival, East Fairmont showed the Bees might be close to being ready for the playoffs to begin in a few weeks. East fought back from an early deficit and held off a late rally en route to a 68-59 win against North Marion.
The Bees trailed 10-9 at the end of the first quarter, but had a second-quarter surge led by senior Seth Corwin to take the lead into the break at halftime. Corwin, who finished with 22 points, hit two 3-pointers in the period to help shift momentum in East’s favor.
