FAIRMONT —
Fumbleitis.
Fairmont Senior was manhandled Friday night against Frankfort at East-West Stadium, 40-20.
The Falcons’ defense forced the Polar Bears into five costly turnovers that led to an early lead and eventually a runaway victory.
“If it’s not a lack of execution, it’s us killing ourselves,” said Fairmont Senior’s head coach Jared Mileto. “Five turnovers in a game, expecially when you’re trying to play a ball-control offense, you can’t do it. You have to do a better job of keeping the ball secure.”
On the opening possession for Frankfort, it found a way to score three points due to the leg of standout kicker Josh McNeil.
McNeil drilled a 37-yard field goal that gave FHS a 3-0 lead with 7:05 remaining in the first quarter.
