FAIRMONT —
As the top girls’ lacrosse program in West Virginia and with five state titles and counting, Fairmont Senior has certainly made a lasting impact on the sport.
But for all the Polar Bears have accomplished on the field, longtime coach Jon Cain wanted his team to do something special off it.
“We challenged the girls this year to make a difference,” he said. “We had our success on the field, but I said let’s try to do a little more off the field to make a difference and maybe improve others’ lives.”
That’s where the team’s inaugural breast cancer awareness game comes in.
