CHARLESTON — The North Marion Huskies have reached the state championship game for the second year in a row.
The top-seeded Lady Huskies overcame a poor-shooting first half to dispatch budding rival Huntington in Friday night’s Class AAA semifinal game, 61-50.
“We struggled shooting in the first half,” North Marion head coach Mike Parrish said. “We were 0-of-18 from 3-point range but a lot of those were from pretty far back. I kept trying to get the girls to scoot in a little before shooting.
“But we came out with a fire in the second half, you could see the fire in their eyes coming out. The defense picked it up and that got the offense going.”
