Oak Glen’s volleyball team made quick work of Fairmont Senior and Weir en route to capturing the West Virginia Class AA Region 1, Section 1 Tournament title Thursday at Oak Glen.
The Golden Bears, the defending Class AA state champs, outscored their opposition 150-60.
Oak Glen (35-6) defeated Fairmont Senior, 25-3, 25-11, 25-3, in the semifinals and Oak Glen defeated Weir, 25-18, 25-11, 25-14, in the sectional final.
East Fairmont fell to Weir in Thursday’s semifinal.
Individul stats were not available at press time.
Oak Glen and Weir will play in the Region 1 Tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday at East Fairmont High School.
