East basketball hosts Midnight Madness: PHOTOS

PLEASANT VALLEY — In an festive tuneup for the upcoming season, East Fairmont’s basketball programs hosted a Midnight Madness at the high school on Friday night.

The event, which ran from 9:30 p.m. to a little before midnight in the EFHS gym, featured appearances and drills from East’s freshmen, junior varsity and varsity teams.

The East Fairmont Busy Bee Band and Honey Bees also performed on Friday night, as did the state-tournament bound East cheerleading team.

    On Tuesday, Travon Horton signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Fairmont State University.
    He said staying in Fairmont means a lot because of the support he has.

    Winning it all.
    Fairmont Senior’s senior phenom Nick Trefz can now call himself a state champion in track.
    Trefz took home the gold in the 3,200 meters in Charleston on Friday with a time of 9:36.21.

    Braxton County — collecting 12 hits and taking advantage of four errors — forced East Fairmont into a comeback mode during Thursday’s Class AA regional semifinal at the East field.
    The Bees mounted rallies but saw their season come to an end with a 7-4 setback to the Eagles.
