The injury-riddled North Marion’s girls’ basketball fought, but couldn’t get past host Preston on Wednesday night in a 60-48 loss.
The Huskies were playing without starters Anna Moscufo and Noca Singleton, along with bench players Cara Egress and Peyton McVicker. Three of those four were out with concussions.
“We played hard, we just didn’t make plays when we needed to,” North coach Mike Parrish said.
Megan Haller and Taylor Wells each had 10 points to pace the Huskies, who have lost two straight and now sit at 4-3.
Andrea Nicholas and Mackensy Hess had eight points apiece for North, and Audia Bartlett had five.
The Huskies trailed 19-14 after one and 34-21 at the half. They briefly cut the lead to six points early in the fourth.
North hosts Class AA power Bridgeport on Friday.
In other action on Wednesday, Fairmont Senior’s girls’ basketball team rolled to a 56-24 win at Elkins. No details were reported to the Times West Virginian.
