SHINNSTON —
Tale of two quarters.
Fairmont Senior won a nail-biter against Lincoln on Friday night, 26-14, while snapping its three-game skid.
During the very first possession of the game, Fairmont Senior’s Ryder Skarzinski ignited the offense with three carries for a total of 58 yards and a touchdown.
He wove his way through the Cougars’ defense for a 15-yard gain to start the game. He then cracked through the hole for a burst of 42 yards. One yard from the end zone, Skarzinski plowed his way for a Polar Bear touchdown with 11:31 left in the first quarter — just 29 seconds into the game.
“We came out ready. We came out strong, and our line did a great job blocking for me as usual,” said Skarzinski.
