The Fairmont Senior girls’ basketball team put a hurting on East Fairmont on Wednesday evening, 78-35.
Throughout the entirety of the game, the Bees found themselves being exterminated by the Polar Bears.
FSHS applied constant pressure from both the interior and exterior of its defense — the Bees couldn’t throw the ball into play, and East had trouble moving the ball past the halfcourt marker.
“We played good defense tonight,” said Fairmont Senior’s head coach Corey Hines. “We try to put a lot more pressure on the ball, so these are one of those games where it worked. Sometimes, it doesn’t work, but today, they were jumping to their help side and that created a lot of transitions.”
