FAIRMONT —
Fairmont Senior’s Austin Norman is set to make his first start at the quarterback position since the second week of the 2012 season against North Marion.
In that game versus the Huskies, Norman was shredding North’s defense, starting the game 3-for-5 passing before being injured on a passing play that caused him to escape the pocket.
The play resulted in a broken collarbone and the end to his junior season — or so they thought.
“The doctors were saying that Austin was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks due to the broken collarbone,” said Fairmont Senior head coach Jared Mileto. “They told us that we had to wait to see how the bone was healing and then have some rehab before being able to play again. So we thought his junior season would be over.”
