FAIRMONT —
North Marion boys’ basketball team lost to Bridgeport for the second time this season on Tuesday, as the Indians pulled away after halftime for a 68-55 win.
The Huskies, who fell at BHS 60-52 last month, trailed 23-20 on Tuesday but managed to fight back and forth a 38-all tie by intemisson.
Bridgeport (15-6), though, held a 30-17 scoring edge in the second half to win for the sixth time in its past seven games.
Jordan Haywood led the Indians with 24 points.
Matt Cain — who along with Cameron Wilson were honored on Tuesday’s Senior Night — made his regular season home finale one to remember individually.
Cain scored a game-best 27 and connected on seven first-half 3-pointers.
Wilson added 12, while Cole Richards and Chase Banker each had seven and Cody Opron six.
North, which closes the regular season at 14-7, is off until it begins sectional tournament play.

A good start didn’t stick for East Fairmont’s boys’ basketball team on Senior Night on Tuesday.
The Bees grabbed a surprising halftime lead at home against Robert C. Byrd, but couldn’t hold on in a 57-46 loss.
East, which dipped to 8-10, held a 29-26 halftime lead over No. 3 RCB (15-6) before the Eagles took a 37-33 lead after three.
No other details were reported.
The Bees honored their six senior players — Tony Hayes, Michael McCutchan, Johnny Manchin, John Bowman, Drew Arnett and Cody Wilson — on Tuesday night.
East Fairmont (8-10) is off until sectional tournament play gets under way.
