FSU hoops locker room plan in motion

FAIRMONT — When hired as Fairmont State’s men’s basketball coach in April, Jerrod Calhoun had a mental checklist of what he wanted done right out of the chute.

He wanted to upgrade the team’s roster — and brought in a junior college All-American, a former Division I point guard and a talented freshman class, among other things.

He wanted the Falcons to play top flight competition — and not only got a road game at Kent State in late December, but a regular season contest with the Division I Golden Flashes.

On top of that, he wanted to secure the funds needed to upgrade the program’s outdated men’s basketball locker room — and now, thanks to generous donations, that goal will soon become reality.
