FAIRMONT —
You see a player put in the time and effort to get better and in most cases, the reward is often waiting around the bend.
In the case of Fairmont Senior’s boys’ basketball team, one starter’s growth has certainly been worth the wait — or Waites.
That’s because senior guard DeVante’ Waites has taken his game to another level this season and is a main reason why the 10-3 Polar Bears have risen to fourth in this week’s Associated Press Class AA boys’ poll.
“His confidence is very high,” Fairmont Senior coach David Retton said earlier this month.
