FAIRMONT —
While usually not one to brag, Fairmont Senior wrestling coach Mark Delligatti isn’t afraid to boast a little when the Winner’s Choice tournament comes up.
The annual event gets under way at 1 p.m. today, and the Polar Bears’ coach believes it to be not merely the best in-season tournament in North Central West Virginia, but the entire state.
“If it’s not, I dont know which one is better,” he said.
Held at the Woody Williams Armory successively since 1977, this year’s event will feature 32 teams, including the Fairmont Senior junior varsity squad.

Fairmont Senior squeaked past Oak Glen in the regional championship game on Friday, 3-0.
In the win, the Polar Bears were led by their ace pitcher in Matt Robbins. -
