FAIRMONT —
Fairmont Senior’s Anthony Alvaro breezed past his competition at the East Fairmont Duals over the weekend.
During his quest, Alvaro capped a 9-0 record.
His eighth win of the event came against Braxton’s Ricky Hammond, a 145-pounder who was previously ranked second in Class AA. Alvaro pinned Hammond a minute into the first period.
With his 9-0 performance, Alvaro earned “Most Outstanding Wrestler” of the tournament.
For his efforts, Alvaro is the latest Times West Virginian Multi-Media Good Sports Player of the Week.
