While Ryder Skarzinski is short on varsity football experience, he’s not lacking toughness.
Not when he’s a middle linebacker by trade. And certainly not when he’s had to battle through a serious injury that all but wiped out his sophomore year.
Now Skarzinski, a junior and fully healed after right shoulder surgery, is ready to make up for lost time on a Fairmont Senior team primed for its first season in Class AA.
“It’s huge to have him back,” Fairmont Senior coach Jared Mileto said of Skarzinski, who is one of many talented underclassmen the Polar Bears welcome back in 2012. “He’s healed up, ready to go and has put a whole offseason of work in. He was down with an injury, but it wasn’t idle time for him. He’s definitely put the work in to come back.”
