All three Marion County girls’ basketball teams are set and ready to go for the sectional playoffs beginning today.
Although both North and Fairmont Senior aren’t set to tip off until Wednesday, East Fairmont is getting ready to square off against Weir at 7:30 p.m. today.
The Bees have had a season of ups and downs, but can start fresh and make a run when wins actually count.
“I think we’re ready to play. The first half of the season is behind us,” East head coach Bill Malone said. “Everyone starts off 0-0. So our chances are as good as anybody’s. We just have to show up and be ready to play.”
What hurt EFHS throughout the season were turnovers. Against Lincoln last week, the Bees committed 29 turnovers in the loss; however, in the third quarter, the Bees committed two turnovers, which allowed them to make a run that put them ahead.
