PLEASANT VALLEY —
Clutch free-throw shooting allowed the Bees to prevail.
On Tuesday evening at The Hive in the heart of East Fairmont High School, East Fairmont’s boys’ basketball squeaked past Philip Barbour, 51-48.
Put yourself in this situation — with 47 seconds remaining in the game, your team is up 45-43 and you’re at the free-throw line.
Your team’s success is in the palm of your hand.
Do you drill the buckets, while showing you are a clutch player? Or do you clinch up and choke ... disappointing your teammates and school?
For 5-8 senior, Tony Hayes, he chose the first option — having ice in his veins, while dropping a pair of free throws — to give EFHS a 47-43 lead late.
