Former East Fairmont Bee and West Virginia University Mountaineer David Carpenter has made an impact for his AAA affiliate during the past 10 games.
With the Las Vegas 51s, Carpenter has pitched 7.2 innings while having an earned run average of 1.17. Carpenter has notched 12 strikeouts, and he’s only allowed four walks and five hits. Carpenter’s lone earned run was allowed just two games ago.
“I’m happy with the opportunity that I’ve been presented with,” Carpenter said. “Coming to Toronto, this team is making a push to get in the playoffs. We are in the toughest division in baseball in the AL East, and I’m happy that I’m getting the opportunity to show what I can do in the minor leagues, and then hopefully I will be back in the majors and help them out a little bit.”
