The buzz is building.
If you haven’t talked to a friend or family member about Fairmont State men’s basketball, you’ve surely seen one of the flyers for the Falcons’ summer camps.
Or maybe you’ve chatted with a member of the FSU coaching staff, including first-year head coach Jerrod Calhoun, at the store or gas station.
Heck, perhaps even at a pro wrestling event.
“I was at a WWE wrestling event in Wheeling and had a Fairmont State fan come up to me and say what a class you’ve put together,” said Calhoun, a former West Virginia University assistant under Bob Huggins who was hired to lead FSU’s program this past spring. “Whether we’re at the gas station or somewhere out at lunch, the buzz is out there.”

Polar Bears vs. Golden Bears postponed to today

The Fairmont Senior-Oak Glenn Class AA regional final championship game has to wait another day.
The culprit? A toad strangler that dumped gallons of water on the field, which resulted into a muddy mess. -

East’s Summers signs to play softball at FSU
East Fairmont softball player Kayla Summers always dreamed about playing softball in college.
On Tuesday, Summers signed her letter of intent to play at Fairmont State University.
