FAIRMONT —
On the final day of the state meet, and maybe even the final time he’d swim competitively, Logan Demyon made everything count on Friday morning.
Same goes for his Fairmont Senior teammates, too.
Led by Demyon and three motivated underclassmen, the Polar Bears smashed personal bests to take seventh place in the 200-yard freestyle at the West Virginia University Natatorium.
The group — comprised of senior Demyon, junior Gage Hannah and a pair of freshmen in Jeremy Sheppard and Ben Stewart — put together a finals time of 1:35.83.

Fairmont Senior High School’s baseball team leveled Braxton County in the Class AA semi-regionals Tuesday evening, 11-0.
The Polar Bears were led by their cleanup hitter, Johnny Kesling, and starting pitcher, Fletcher DeVaul. -
