RACHEL —
Get your sweepers out.
For the second time this season, North Marion’s boys’ basketball team defeated Fairmont Senior in overtime, 67-64.
This time it was in the “Dawg Pound” — and the crowd was rowdy.
“The crowd was crazy — the place was packed and we couldn’t hear a thing,” North Marion’s shooting guard Chase Banker said following the win. “I’ve never swept Fairmont Senior in my lifetime in anything that I’ve played, so this is a first.”
When the game comes down to statistics, North Marion hit free throws, while FSHS couldn’t buy a foul shot.
The Huskies student section’s roller coaster was as rocky as the Polar Bears free-throw percentage.
Fairmont Senior would manage to hit just four free throws out of 15 opportunities.
