The No. 1 wrestling team in the state is trying to regroup following a disappointing performance in the Big 10 tournament.
East Fairmont expected to come out of this week’s event at Lewis County High School with another title under its belt.
But the opposite happened — the Bees didn’t bring home a title, but tallied a third-place spot behind rivals Fairmont Senior and North Marion.
“For a small tournament like that, we had a couple of matches that didn’t go our way,” East Fairmont’s head coach John Geary said. “In a small tournament like that, it’s hard to recover and come back.”
The Bees were relying heavily on their big dogs to carry them to title town, but in wrestling, anything can happen.
