BRIDGEPORT — It started from humble beginnings, but now the Mountaineer Roundup World Championship Ram Rodeo is among the area’s most popular summer attractions.
“Twenty years strong,” rodeo organizer Jeff Tucker said with a smile prior to kicking off the milestone event on Friday night.
And before storms rocked Bridgeport and surrounding areas, sending people to their cars and likely back to the 4T Arena for today’s and Sunday’s festivities, the 2012 version wasn’t much different from rodeos of two decades.
Wide-eyed children got close to the animals. People of all ages donned cowboy hats, while others sat in the large field overlooking the rodeo and took it all in.
