Hanging by a thread.
That’s precisely what the No. 1 East Fairmont wrestling team did Wednesday night, as they held on to upend cross-town rival and No. 5-ranked Fairmont Senior for a 34-32 dual match victory at the Woody Williams Armory.
And this wasn’t just a figure of speech, as the Bees held on for victories and even in the bouts they didn’t win, mustered enough guts and willpower not to get pinned.
That’s what the key was in the eyes of East coach John Geary, who saw his team follow a team title at the Williamstown Rumble last weekend with a big rivalry win heading into tomorrow’s Big 10 Championships.
