Margie Moats

Margie Virginia Moats, 85, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 3, 2010) at Heartland Nursing Home in Kingwood.

She was born June 3, 1924 at Irwin, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Jane (Loughrie) Moats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton A. Moats, on Jan. 13, 1987. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Maxine Moats; four brothers, Jack, Paul, Jim and Franklin Moats; one sister, Gladys Moats; and four grandchildren, Nathan Moats, John Pitts, Brittany Moats and Toni Johnson.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley (Evona) Moats, Aurora, and Lonnie Moats, Horse Shoe Run; four daughters, Linda (Gerald) Bell, Fairmont, Rheta Johnson, Horse Shoe Run, Carol Pitts, Fairmont, Joann Arnold, Aurora; two brothers, Harold Moats, Irwin, and Todd Moats, Rowlesburg; three sisters, Lavad Moats, Irwin, Wilma Moats, Etam, and Berldine Evans, Parsons; 23 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moats was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Aurora United Methodist Church and the Aurora Women’s Club. She enjoyed flowers, singing and her family.

Friends will be received at the Aurora Memorial Building today from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Aurora United Methodist Church on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Lantz officiating. Interment will follow at the Aurora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, WV Chapter, 1299 Pineview Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.

Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mildred Ellen Piscitelli, 93, a longtime resident of Fairmont, died Wednesday afternoon (May 5, 2010) at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston. 

    She was born on May 20, 1916, in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Scalise Serian.

    William Wayne Hendershot, 82 of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday (May 6, 2010) at Crestview Manor at Jane Lew. 

    He was born Jan. 29, 1928, at Myersdale, Pa., a son of the late Samuel and Mary Myers Hendershot.

    Fred was born Nov. 29, 1936, son of Beulah K. Hamrick, a resident of the Tygart Health Care Center in Fairmont, and the late Bilis L. Hamrick.

    Martin Ray Cochran, 74, of Pleasant Valley, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (May 4, 2010) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

    He was born in Idamay on Feb. 2, 1936, the last surviving child born to the late John Edward Cochran and Mary Jane Keener Cochran.
