Jo Claire Bailey

Jo Claire Osborne Bailey, 83, of Buckhannon, passed away Sunday (March 3, 2013) at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born July 8, 1929 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Wayne and Blanche Long DeVault.

She was twice married, first to Ralph Osborne, who died Nov. 11, 1996, then on June 7, 2008 she married Vernon W. Bailey, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Brenda Jo Lemley of Fairmont, and one son, Robert Osborne of Fairmont; one brother, Grady DeVault of Barrackville; three sisters, Patricia Brotosky of Fairmont, Shirley Wilson of Detroit, Mich., and Dokey Arnett of Fairmont; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Hood Freeman; two brothers, Harold and Earl DeVault; and three sisters, Mary Wright, Gerry Moore and Ethelene Smith.

Jo retired from the Poky Dot Restaurant in Fairmont with 30 years of service and was known to be a fabulous cook. She enjoyed gardening and crafts and was Pentecostal by faith.

Family and friends may gather at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Hackers Creek Road, Jane Lew, from 4-7 p.m. today. A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. with Clergyman Jimmy Thacker officiating.
