Steve Snider

Samuel Stephen Snider, 66, of Boothsville Community, died Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2012) at the Fairmont General Hospital.

He was born Dec. 28, 1945, in St. Albans, the son of the late Clarence Snider and Gladys Floyd Snider. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn “Tootie” Jones Snider.

He is survived by a son, Brian L. Snider of Boothsville Community, and many close friends.

Steve was employed by the Metheny Motors of Parkersburg. He was an active member of the Eldora United Methodist Church, where he served in several positions including on administrative council, lay leader and choir member. Steve became a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, having served many churches in the area. He was a member of the Sonlighters Gospel Quartet and Christian Rodders.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eldora United Methodist Church, 72 Pear Tree Lane, Fairmont, WV 26554.

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Michael Richards officiating. The committal service will follow in the Clermont Cemetery.
