George K. Glover, 88, of Mannington, passed away Wednesday, at Pierpont Circle in Fairmont.
He was born March 27, 1924, at Salt Lick Mannington, a son of the late George and Hattie Hibbs Glover.
He is survived by one son, Donald E. and Kerry Glover of Price’s Run, Mannington; a granddaughter, Lisa Ann Poland and husband Rodney of Morgantown; a great-grandson, Alec B. Poland of Morgantown; two brothers, Ernest E. Glover Sr. and wife Charlotte of Mannington, and Charles Glover and wife Evelyn Jean Glover of Amherst, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Glover, who died Sept. 14, 1981.
Mr. Glover retired from Consolidation Coal Co. Blacksville No. 1 Mine, having worked at various mines with 42 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the UMWA. He was a Protestant by faith. He enjoyed gardening and flower gardening.
Mr. Glover requested no public visitation, funeral service or graveside service.
Immediate burial will take place at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the humane society.
Masters Funeral Home in Mannington is in charge of arrangements.
