Derrick Vincent

Times West Virginian

Derrick Matthew Vincent, 24, of Stonewood, departed this life Sunday (Nov. 18, 2012).

He was born April 13, 1988, a son of Darrell Vincent of Stonewood and Jill Grant and husband Kevin of Stonewood.

Derrick is survived by his maternal grandfather, Basil Foster of Fairmont.

He is also survived by his sister, Heather Vincent-Niven and husband Alan of Arizona; his brothers, Dustin Vincent and wife Ginny of Bridgeport, and Kris Grant of Stonewood; nephews, Thorin Vincent, Brock Vincent and Graham Vincent; and nieces, Brier Housknecht and Vaughn Vincent.

He also leaves behind several aunts and uncles, Wanda Stottlemire of Morgantown, John and Joy Foster of Bridgeport, Robin and Paul VanGilder of Fairmont, Sally and Donnie Hawkins of Fairmont, Danny Foster of Pennsylvania, Tommy Foster of Florida, Donna Sims and Barry Morgan of Fairmont, and Danny Vincent and Deloris of Fairmont; as well as countless cousins and friends.

Derrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sarah Foster; his paternal grandparents, Andrew Vincent and Edith Vincent; and his uncle, Bobby Foster.

Derrick was a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 2006 and recently graduated from Clarksburg Beauty Academy Massage Therapy School.

He enjoyed playing soccer and basketball and writing music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always had a smile on his face.

Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, from 2-8 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. James Lang presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
