Amanda Dawn VanGilder-Weaver, 31, of Moundsville, passed away Saturday (Feb. 9, 2013) in Moundsville.
She was born in Fairmont, on May 29, 1981, a daughter of Bessie Irene Hilling of Kingwood and the late Clifton E. VanGilder. Her husband John Mark Weaver is also deceased.
Amanda was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed going to church, going to the park, swimming, shopping and spending time with her son and her large, loving family. Amanda graduated from East Fairmont High School and attended community college in New Martinsville.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Austin Slider of Fairmont; one brother, Clifton VanGilder and his wife Ashlee of Morgantown; two sisters, Ginger Stewart of Morgantown and Patricia VanGilder of Grafton; and several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wayne and Irene Hilling and James and Virginia VanGilder, and an uncle, Joseph VanGilder.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Friday, with Pastor John Conaway officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amanda’s family to offset funeral costs.
