Robert “Hillbilly” L. Jamison Sr., age 75, of Howland Township, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1937, in Fairview, a son of the late Guy F. Jamison and the late Loma V. Ingram Jamison.
Robert graduated from Fairview High School and then graduated from Pittsburgh Barber College. He owned and operated a barber shop in Blacksville.
In 1965, Robert moved his family to Warren, Ohio, to take employment at Packard Electric. He retired in 2003 with 38 1/2 years of service.
Robert was a member of Central Baptist Church of Niles. He is a 50-year member of Mannington Masonic Lodge No. 31 AFAM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Tadmor Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Williams Jamison, whom he married on Jan. 15, 1960; two sons, Robert L. (Artha) Jamison Jr. of Uniontown, Ohio, and Jeff A. (Brenda) Jamison of Vienna, Ohio; a sister, Zelda Jean Fortney of Medina, Ohio; three granddaughters, Jessica L. and Victoria R. Jamison of Uniontown, Ohio, and Elaina M. Jamison of Vienna, Ohio; and by his “Best Buddy” and grandson, Ian F. Jamison of Vienna, Ohio.
Robert is also survived by many much-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Foster Jamison and Jack C. Jamison; two sisters, Martha E. Sole and Mary H. Campbell; and a grandson, Eric Robert Jamison.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, Ohio. Masonic services will be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home where the family will again receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at the Howland Township Cemetery.
