Mary Catherine Haught, 89, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Jan. 2, 2013) at Grafton City Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1923 in Littleton, a daughter of the late Archie James and Lettie Long Wycoff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gideon E. Haught.
Mrs. Haught was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. She was a homemaker in her own home. Being a mother and wife was her greatest joy. Mary had previously worked at Westinghouse in Fairmont, prior to her marriage. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She loved surprising family and friends with her pies and cakes. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to anyone who knew her.
Survivors include her son, James E. Haught and his wife Leah of Cheat Lake; daughter, Carol J. and her husband Gary Starn of Grafton; grandchildren, Scott Gary and his wife Rachel Starn, Craig and his wife Katie Starn, and Jennifer Haught; step-grandchildren, Jamie and her husband Ryan Justus; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Starn, Jude Starn, Julianna Justus and Lilly Justus; brothers, the Rev. Ralph and his wife the Rev. Elizabeth Smith Wycoff of Farmington, and James Wycoff of Indianapolis, Ind.; and sister, Helen and her husband Gary Twyman of Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Haught; step-grandson, William Justus; brother, Harold R. Wycoff; and sister, Ethel Phillips.
Friends and family may call Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 10-11 a.m. Monday. The funeral will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with her brother Reverend Ralph Wycoff and Reverend Elizabeth Smith Wycoff officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Fairmont.
