Clinton Mayle

Clinton Sherman Mayle, 61, of Thornton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012) at Fairmont General Hospital.

He was born March 17, 1951 in Knottsville, son of the late Hartsel Mayle and Juanita Dalton Mayle.

Clinton married Carolyn Lee Teeple Mayle on April 16, 1977; she survives him along with two sons, Dayton L. Mayle Jr. (Michelle) of Grafton and Damon L. Mayle (Kathy Bailey) of Buckhannon; six brothers, Dayton Mayle (Angie Metcalf) of North Carolina, Albert (Delberta) Mayle of Grafton, Dewayne (Cindy) Mayle of Ohio, Clarence Mayle of Grafton, Elihue (Debbie) Mayle of Philippi, and Rick (Angie) Mayle of Grafton; six sisters, Freda (Stan) Mayle, Donna Mayle, Genell (Teddy) Sines, Teressa (Clide) Reid, and Linda Walker, all of Grafton, and Cindy (Bob) Stoller of Fairmont; nine grandchildren, Nathael, Sean, Clinton, Dalton, Zachary, Damon Jr., Darian, Makenzie and Chance; mother-in-law, Dorothy Jean Bolner Teeple of Thornton; one sister-in-law, Debbie (Darl) Phillips of Thornton; and a brother-in-law, Ed Teeple of Grafton.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Sandy Mayle, Siann Keener and Doris Marie Mayle; one brother, John Mayle; and father-in-law, Lealand Teeple.

Clinton graduated from Grafton High School in 1970 and Gore Technical Center in 1999 with an LPN nurses license.

He loved his nursing career and enjoyed taking care of his residents at John Manchin Sr. Healthcare in Fairmont; started his career in Baby World, then at a steel mill in Hubbert, Ohio; next he was a foreman-line supervisor for 20-plus years at Rexhide Industries. He was a member of New Testament Fellowship Church; he loved to hunt and spend time with his grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Bartlett Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral will be held Wednesday at New Testament Fellowship Church and he will lie in repose from 9:30 a.m. until service time of 11 a.m. with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodsdale Cemetery.
