Wayne Musgrave, 92, of Rivesville, passed from this life Friday (Nov. 30, 2012), in his home under Hospice care.
He was born in Rivesville on July 22, 1920, a son of the late Charles and Tillie May Hayhurst Musgrave.
Wayne was Methodist by faith. He was retired coal miner, having worked for the South Union Mines. He also worked as a cement finisher and continued with that until he was 84 years old. He was a member of UMWA District 31. He enjoyed meeting with and drinking coffee with his buddies, coon hunting, fishing, deer hunting, watching the Pirates, raising his own vegetables and canning them.
Mr. Musgrave is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rebecca Annie Smith Musgrave; two daughters and one son-in-law, Margie Sue and Glenn P. Given of Fairmont and Nancy Skarzenski of Rivesville; three step-children, Leonard (Lora) Smith of Morgantown, Robert (Pam) Smith of Hagans and Loretta (David) Price of Hagans; 16 grandchildren, Kathy (Bobby) Tucker, Randy (Kim) Given, Joyce (Joe) Hayes, Patrick (Rayna) Given, Connie (John) Carpenter, Stephen (Michelle) Weekley, Holly Weekley, Wayne (Angel) Musgrave, Joey Musgrave, Dustin Smith, Sierra (Jimmy) Hall, Desiree (Victor) Pedroso, Cody Smith, Corey Smith, Claire Price and Crystal (Mike) Winters; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Barney Musgrave; and a special daughter-in-law, Cheryl Musgrave.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family; his first wife, Margie Ledsome Musgrave; his second wife, Beatrice Wilson Musgrave; his son Bernard Joseph Musgrave and an infant son; also one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont, from 6-8 p.m. today, Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
