Doris Lila Harsh

Doris Lila Harsh, 84, of Winfield Community, Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 21, 2012) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born in Fairmont on May 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Worley and Virgie Virginia (Lake) Rogers.

Doris was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had worked for C & P Telephone Co. as an operator for 13 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, J.R. Harsh of Fairmont; two sons, Roger Harsh and his wife Kimberly of Pleasant Valley and Johnnie Harsh and his wife Rosalynd of Winfield; three grandchildren, McKenzie Thorn, Brittany Homchenko and her husband Joe, and Andrea Murphy; and three great-grandchildren, Alexcia Murphy, Nathan Murphy and Kayleigh Sapp.

Also surviving are two brothers, William Rogers and his wife Partricia of Winfield and Ray Rogers and his wife Viola of Mt. Harmony, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Gordy, and a brother-in-law, Pete Gordy.

Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont today from 6-9 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Ross Cemetery in Marion County on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Shepherd officiating.
